Até à data não existe um método capaz de determinar de forma inequívoca se, para um dado doente oncológico, a radioterapia é, ou não, um tratamento eficaz. Trata-se de um problema de extrema relevância, uma vez que implica que alguns doentes estão a ser desnecessariamente submetidos a efeitos colaterais potencialmente graves da radioterapia. Um novo ensaio, recorrendo a avatares de peixe-zebra, poderá oferecer uma solução promissora com testes rápidos e personalizados de compatibilidade com radioterapia.
