The first research grant on breast cancer by Associação Laço funds a project leaded by Sérgio Dias, of Instituto de Medicina Molecular da Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa (IMM). The project aims to study the relationship between high levels of cholesterol  and tumour growth.
