The communication network of pancreatic cancer

Recent advancements in mouse models for studying exosomes have provided new insights into their roles in various biological contexts. Exosomes are tiny particles that cells release to communicate with each other. Using a new genetic mouse model, we tracked exosomes from pancreas cells and studied their behavior during pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, a type of pancreatic cancer.
 
Our findings show that cell communication is coordinated, not random. In a healthy pancreas, exosomes help prevent the growth of new blood vessels, maintaining organ health.

Avanços recentes em modelos animais para o estudo de exossomas forneceram novos insights sobre os seus papéis em diversos contextos biológicos. Os exossomas são pequenas partículas que as células libertam para comunicar entre si. Usando um novo modelo animal geneticamente modificado, rastreamos exossomas de células do pâncreas e estudamos o seu comportamento durante o adenocarcinoma ductal pancreático (PDAC), um tipo de cancro de pâncreas.
