Call for papers: The Cellular Redox System in Cancer, Cardiovascular and Neurodegenerative diseases

The journal «Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity» is inviting renowned researchers to contribute to original research articles as well as review articles that will promote the understanding of the role of the cellular redox regulatory system in human diseases:
«Increasing evidence has shown that the cellular redox regulatory system plays a major role in the regulation of cell signaling cascades that are involved in many fundamental processes, such as cell proliferation, growth, apoptosis, and differentiation. However, there are still great many questions to answer regarding the link between the cellular redox regulatory proteins and the development and pathology of human disease. For instance, there are a number of studies showing the importance of the antioxidant system in promoting tumor progression, but the main redox regulatory proteins involved in cancer are poorly understood. Consequently, it is vital to investigate this topic further. Taking into consideration the active debate within the literature regarding the role of reactive oxygen species and redox regulation of protein function and the role of antioxidants in human disease, this is an ideal time to make a special issue on the subject.
We invite renowned researchers to contribute to original research articles as well as review articles that will promote the understanding of the role of the cellular redox regulatory system in human disease. We are particularly interested in articles identifying and characterizing redox regulatory proteins implicated in human disease, articles that highlight the identification of redox regulatory proteins that could be used as biomarkers for different diseases, and articles that implicate redox regulatory proteins as novel therapeutic targets for human disease.»
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
Redox regulatory proteins involved in tumor progression
Redox regulatory proteins involved in neurodegenerative diseases
Redox regulatory proteins involved in cardiovascular diseases
Novel therapies targeting redox regulatory proteins
Novel biomarkers
