This work follows the one published in 2010 by Sérgia Velho from Professor Raquel Seruca’s group at IPATIMUP, in which MLK3 mutations were for the first described to occur in gastric and colorectal cancers. These mutations were associated with the induction of invasive potential of cancer cells. In the present work, the authors performed expression microarray analysis in order to determine the signaling pathways underlying the oncogenic properties of mutant MLK3.
