Study reveals the role of epigenetics in prostate cancer radioresistance

Researchers from the Cancer Biology & Epigenetics Group at the Research Center of IPO Porto, Portugal have revealed a pivotal link between epigenetic regulation and prostate cancer radioresistance. The study, entitled "Epigenetic Regulation of TP53 is Involved in Prostate Cancer Radioresistance and DNA Damage Response Signaling," was recently published in the prestigious journal Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy.

Epigenetic Signature of Radioresistant Esophageal Carcinoma

Researchers from two Groups of Research Center IPO Porto Cancer: Biology & Epigenetics Group and Medical Physics, Radiobiology and Radiological Protection, recently published a study in the international journal Cell Death & Disease entitled: “JmjC-KDMs KMD3A and KDM6B modulate radioresistance under hypoxic conditions in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. This work highlights the role of lysine demethylases (KDMs), in particular KDM3A, in radioresistant behavior of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma cells, under hypoxia.

A Assinatura Epigenética na Radio-resistência do Carcinoma do Esófago

Investigadores do Grupo de Epigénetica e Biologia do Cancro e do Grupo de Física Médica, Radiobiologia e Protecção Radiológica do Centro de Investigação do IPO do Porto, publicaram recentemente na revista internacional Cell Death & Disease um trabalho desenvolvido no âmbito do Projecto ESTIMA (NORTE-01-0145-FEDER-000027) intitulado: “JmjC-KDMs KMD3A and KDM6B modulate radioresistance under hypoxic conditions in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma.
